"Off The Shelf"

Carol Cooper, from writing group "The Glass Mountain Writers" at Crystal Peaks has sent us the following: "Congratulations to Beighton on winning a prize in the Britain in Bloom competition. From The Glass Mountain Writers based in Waterthorpe Library. Our 'Off the Shelf ' poetry performance will take place in The Art Space in the library on the 21st of October at 2-15. Entrance and refreshements free. Everyone welcome so come along and support your local writers group."

National Time to Change Event

Dawn Rowley sent the following:

"Please see attached poster.

National Time to Change is holding an event in Sheffield to bring together people with lived experience of mental health problems who are part of the movement for change.

This event will bring people together who are involved in activism, training, research and evaluation, and campaigning for Time to Change, advisors, project workers, volunteers, and members of our social networks, to share ideas and experiences, celebrate their involvement and be part of shaping the future direction of Time to Change.

This is event is happening on Friday 10th September at 12.30pm - 4pm at the Electric Works, you will need to register for a place.

It'd be nice to have some photos of Beighton to put on this website. There's a flickr group for Beighton, http://www.flickr.com/groups/beighton that you can join, after which you can upload photos to the group. After uploading they'll be available in the flickr group and we can put them on the website as well.

 
Reignhead Barn

Reignhead barn is a 250 year old "winnowing barn" (opposite The Fox on Robin Lane) that has recently achieved Grade II listed status. There's a campaign to save the barn for the community and they have a website at http://www.reignhead.co.uk/
