Graduating from University of Wales Bangor from a Biology degree Matt went onto to study Countryside Management. Matt also runs the South Yorkshire Green Business Club based at Sheffield Chamber of Commerce which provides businesses, through monthly breakfast meetings, the opportunity to network and take part in proactive and constructive presentation, debates and workshops designed to demonstrate the business potential that the environmental sector posses.

Following on from the highly successful phase one of the Eco-Business Project Matt has been tasked by Beighton Villages Development Trust with delivering Phase 2 and providing businesses in Beighton with free consultation focused on improving their energy efficiency, minimising their waste and improving their bottom line. Upon taking up the post of Environmental Business Advisor Matt commented that ‘the Eco Business Project offers businesses based in the Beighton and surrounding villages an excellent opportunity to access free support and make a real impact on their profit margins but also improve their local environment. Phase one demonstrated that SME’s in the region can realise substantial savings whilst also benefiting from the associated publicity and recognition. Improving their environmental performance may also make them more eligible suppliers or partners in lucrative contracts. As the support is free it’s a win win situation for the participating businesses’.
