For sometime now we have been working to improve the environment, both inside the School and in the wider community.  As a result of our efforts we were awarded both the Bronze and Silver Eco-Schools Award.  This great achievement has now been surpassed by winning the ultimate Green Flag award (see the Newsletter page for more detail).

Over the sixteen years since Reignhead opened, its leaders, staff, families and community have worked hard together to create the warm, welcoming and successful School that it is today.

The enthusiastic staff and Governors provide a range of skills and talents that enrich the wide and varied curriculum experiences that are offered to the children.

Our curriculum is based on strong teaching in the core subjects, enriched with a tapestry of creativity and exciting learning opportunities that involve the whole School community and ensure:

Reignhead is a Community Primary
co-education day school

We cater for the 5-11 year age group. Children begin their full-time education at the beginning of the term in which they are five years old.  Prior to that they may have already attended our Nursery which is an integral part of our building.

The School is in the heart of Beighton, tucked away on Platts Drive, off Victoria Road and can be found by following the newly installed sign posts!  Beighton has seen significant development of new housing in recent years with Reignhead now serving this new housing as well as
the established Beighton community.

The building is of a steel framed brick construction and has been
designed for wheelchair access.  There are seven open plan teaching bases as well as the Nursery unit within the School, together with a central hall, a dual-purpose dining/teaching area, two home studies
areas, a computer suite and most recently a double mobile classroom.  The growth of our pupil numbers has led to the necessity for this mobile classroom which has been sited in the upper primary playground.

The School was built on the site of existing playing fields and has retained substantial areas of this land for outdoor play.  The play areas are intended both for School and community use and showering and other facilities  inside  the  School  have been designed for this purpose.  Landscaping of a Millennium garden includes garden areas for use by the children, areas of wildlife and woodland as well as flower beds. We  are also developing  quiet seating  areas within the School playing areas for the Children.

It is expected that there will be in excess of four hundred children enroled during the 2005 to 2006 school year with a further 26 children
in each of the two daily Nursery sessions.
